Czech Food cooking as I learned it growing up in Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia), prepared the way my mother had teach me. Once you taste it you'll love it.
Czechs love the bread dumplings and together with pork and sauerkraut it is their favored
meal. Another is tenderloin with vegetables (sour cream); beef tenderloin,(venison is much better) usually larded, and with a thick sauce served also with bread dumplings.
Served with cranberry it is very tasty. There are a lot of people who can't resist it if they see it. There are all sorts of dumplings, fruit, potato etc. Delicious rye breads are served with cold meats and cheeses as open face sandwiches. From picturesque farms come geese (much favored over a duck), chickens, rabbit isn’t bad either, and trout from mountain streams. To harvest carp from ponds for Christmas Eve meal served with potato salad is a tradition together with all kinds of baked sweets after, or before. Many kinds of variety of delicious edible mushrooms come from virgin woods and meadows.
Czech Sunday dinner usually starts with a soup and main meal after. They like their torts and other sweets too........
And naturally, it is the Pilsner Urquel or Budweiser, I'm talking the original BUDVAR; to top every dish.
