Frontier Town, Durham, Ontario 2000.
Every year I go to bike rally organized by the Abate (Association of Biker's for Awareness, Training and Education) of Ontario. They held it Civic Holiday, in August, all long weekend, near the town of Durham. About seventy miles West from Barrie
. The first time I went, not having a bike that year, I drove my old motor home instead, following my buddy Rick on his Harley. Of course we made the wrong turn somewhere and almost end up in Collingwood, but still made it there early, with not to many people around, to find a good camp side. That year it was in Frontier Town, a place set up like a Ghost town, with old style Saloon and wooden cabins. In the evening they had great bands, fire and all together good time. When we woke up in the morning, after eventful night we were surrounded on all sides by the tents, bikes and trailers. The place was packed. We heard the bikes coming at night, but you don't really pay any attention to that. That's pretty normal there; you hear the bikes all the time. Someone is always awake. We watched the bike competitions in the morning and later just admiring some great bikes, together with our friends who showed up that day too. Since I had my RV, we done our cooking there, but there is always stands where you can buy food, souvenirs, all kind of goodies, or get the tattoo if you want. In the evening more music, meeting good people, sitting around fires, having few beers and just shooting bull. The weather was great all the time but next day when we had to leave, instead staying all weekend, we had some rain. It was pretty long drive home, I was kind of glad I wasn't riding like my buddies. My very first time to Frontier Town, and it was great. The reason I go every year ever since, if I can make it.
