Prague - UNESCO HERITAGE.
The historical core of the capital of the Czech Republic was declared a
Prague Monument Reserve in 1971 and is listed in the UNESCO World Cultural
Heritage register. Over 60 information signs mark the perimeter of the
reserve taking the form of 30x70 cm format D43traffic signs with a UNESCO
sign and the label "Prague Monument Reserve - UNESCO".

Prague Mini Guide to Prague Castle.
The site of the castle was
established in the 9th century, in the 12th century the Romanesque palace
was built. In the 14th century, under the reign of Charles IV, it was
rebuilt in Gothic style; the last reconstruction of the Royal palace was
made under the rule of the Jagellons at the end of 15th century.
At that time appeared famous
Vladislav Hall constructed in late Gothic style (1497 to 1500, by the
builder Benedikt Rejt). An enlargement of the Castle was realized in the
16th century, after the big fire in 1541. The Spanish Hall in the new part
of the Castle was built under the reign of Rudolf II. After World War I,
the interior and gardens of the Castle were redesigned by the architect J.
Plecnik. It is the seat of the President of the Republic and the
historical and political centre of the city and state. The changing of the
guards takes place at Prague Castle every full hour from 5.00 am. to 11.00
pm. and also at noon with a solemn fanfare.

Prague Mini Guide to St.
Vitus Cathedral.
Gothic cathedral which was build
over nearly six centuries was finally completed in 1929. In the 10th
century a rotunda originally stood in its place. The cathedral started to
be built in 1344 by Mathias Arras and Peter Parler. Peter Parler also
built St. Wenceslas Chapel, decorated with frescoes and semi-precious
stones, underground there is the tomb of Czech kings.

Prague Mini Guide to Charles Bridge.
The Charles Bridge was founded
in 1357 by Charles IV. It is the oldest bridge in Prague, the work was
carried out by Peter Parler. 30 baroque statues and the groups of statues
are mostly from the 18th century. The well known are works of Matthias
Bernard Braun and Ferdinand Maxmilian Brokoff. It is 529 m long and 10 m
wide. The construction consists of 16 arches. The bridge was fortified at
both its ends by towers.

Prague Mini Guide to The Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock
(Horologe).
The Town Hall was founded in
1338; in 1364 adjoining the tower with the chapel, in 1470 the Town Hall
was reshaped in the late Gothic style. The horologe (orloj) is of the
beginning of 15th century, in the upper part every hour (9 a.m. - 9 p.m.)
the procession of the 12 apostles in succession appears at the window, in
the low part is the copy if 12 internal medallions with the sings of the
zodiacal constellations by Josef Manes.

Prague Mini Guide to Vysehrad.
On a rock over the River Vltava
the oldest seat of the Premyslide princes. The most ancient building at
Vysehrad is the rotunda of St. Martin. In the vicinity of St. Peter and
Paul's Church is the residence of canons, casemates, park and cemetery
with tombs of famous representatives of Czech culture (Slavin). From the
southern part of the fortifications is beautiful view of Prague.
