My opinion about travel to Cuba: I had read a few reports about Santa Lucia or Cuba in general. Some of the people complain about the resorts. I personally don't have any problems there. Usually I look for the deals and travel last minute, if I can. It's cheaper that way. Being middle class and far away from being rich, I go there, to get away from cold Canadian winters and relax, for a while. So if it's little breezy or rain I don't complain. It's warm. Food is editable, don’t expect same food as in the Hilton hotels and you will be okay. I haven't seen any tourist to starve there, yet. Staff is friendly and they really trying hard to keep your rooms clean and please you. Some of the people complain about treatment at the Cuban airports. But that's why Cuba is safe. I'm not saying that I like being treated like that, but you get the same at almost any airport these days. Also I find that a lot of your vacation depends on your company. Who you travel with or who do you meet. Try to spend some time with Cubans. I'm not just talking about the employees at the resorts. Regular people. Once they get to know you, they treat you like a king. Of course treat them the same. Over all for a cheap vacation in the sun you can't beat it. See my reviews of my single travels to Cuba.
